“Local Project with Global Effect”
The Brno šije project was fouded in 2015 as the first sewing workshop in Brno. The philosophy of the whole project is “slow fashion”. The point is, in today’s world of overproduction, to create the opposite of mass, unimaginative, and often poor quality clothing, and inspire people for the almost lost craft, sewing. All this happens in the friendly atmosphere of workshops, where you can test sewing machine, and then learn not only how to sew, but also to think creatively and maybe to dress gradually the whole family. It is a pleasant side effect, being able to boost a small percentage of people who are not involved in promoting fast fashion chains.
