I started to work on the creation of non-woven tapestries at the end of the 1980s using traditional material – carded wool. Then I developed a new type of tapestries gradually since 2009 during my stay in Italy, when I realized how huge is the waste and overproduction in the textile industry. Under the influence of the Michelangelo Pistoletto´s Foundation and his concept Terzo Paradiso, I began to reflect on the philosophy of a more sustainable approach. At that time, I started to use industrial textile and consumer textile waste, such as used clothes, samples and pieces of fabrics, yarns, jute, deadstock materials of textile companies, etc., and I tested the undiscovered possibilities of non-woven textiles, preserving the Art Protis technique for future generations.
